Carlos brings 20 years of experience in the domestic, U.S. Hispanic, and
international marketing arenas on both sides of the brand - client and
agency.
Richard began his advertising career at J. Walter Thompson/Paris
working on the De Beers and Gerber Food accounts. His Latin American
background, however, soon brought him back to the U.S. where he focused
on young/urban and multicultural segments.
Now with over a decade in marketing and advertising Richard has made a career of taking on challenges in all sectors, successfully managing blue chip accounts — Kellogg's, Albertsons, Macy's West and American Airlines — from Miami to Los Angeles. His coast to coast experience provides a deep understanding of the young adult/urban and tech savvy consumer throughout the U.S.
In 2003 Richard founded an online services company specializing in web hosting, further enhancing his digital marketing know how. Today, Richard combines his traditional advertising and digital expertise to develop innovative solutions which leverage the strengths of online and offline marketing. Most recently, Richard led the launch efforts of a wireless web access provider into the US Hispanic market. His expertise also led the effort to overhaul the online presence of one of the largest Community College Districts in the US.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Richard has lived throughout Latin America, the United States and France. He is tri-cultural and trilingual, fluent in Spanish and French, and holds a B.A. degree in International Relations from the University of San Diego. Richard currently lives in Venice, CA and is an avid sailor.

Carlos began his career in public relations working on crisis management
and political campaigns. He made a move to work on the emerging U.S.
Hispanic market where he was disappointed at the lack of resources and
data available for strategic development. More alarming to him was the
decade old axioms being utilized as doctrine on Hispanic market
approaches that failed to properly recognize the characteristics of the
fluid and growing segment.
After some years in which he dramatically improved the marketing efforts and returns of clients, Carlos returned to work in the general market with global network agencies that eventually lead him to international work on category and brand development in international developing markets.
He returned to domestic marketing efforts after he joined a CPG client with a regional brand that grew to a national competitor and winner of national recognitions for new product development.
Carlos is very well versed in brand building, having learned from years of developing regional, national and international brands across cultural, language, and geographic boundaries while maintaining brand integrity. He has led the work on several well known brands, including Toyota Motors, M&M/Mars, Kia Motors, Burger King, Gruma's Maseca, Unilever's Ragu, Pepsi Cola's soft drinks, Texaco's Havoline, the family of InterContinental Hotels, and the Fluid Milk Board's "Got Milk?" campaign.

Originally from Mexico, Carlos is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in History with a Psychology emphasis, while his left-brain also indulged in the W. Edward Deming's philosophies taught by the Industrial & Systems Engineering department.
